Almost Done

It’s crazy that I only have 2 more days of classes left here at KSU.  I make it sound like I’m about to be done with college. In 2 more days of classes, I will be done with classes here at KSU, and be ready to move back to Memphis. While I am super excited, I am also super sad. There’s a lot of stuff that I will miss about being here at KSU….and in no particular order:

• Regans
• Lollises
• Lees
• My boys in LC 29
• Zach Brown
• Mexicans at the soccer fields
• My Suitemates. I think that word is extremely homosexual.
• Going to Wild Wings every Thursday and Monday
• Going to McDonald’s at 2 in the morning cuz I’m hongry
• My sweet freaking dorm room
• Being the only Memphis fan in about 300 miles

So yeah. I’m gonna miss these things about being here. I guess they are kind of in the right order too. 

Back to High School

Tonight, I went to a high school basketball game here in Atlanta. The game was between McEachern and Harrison. McEachern is 6th in the state. Harrison is where my good friend Dan went to high school.  Storylines from tonights game:1. I paid less than regular to get in because the lady said “Well, you are a student here at Harrison…”. You are absolutely right miss lady.2. McEachern has a sophomore named Trae Golden. Trae Golden has already committed to Ohio State… As a sophomore. He was unbelievable. He is about 6′0″, and he threw down two nasty dunks. It was awesome.3.  Harrison’s intro was unlike anything I have ever seen in high school basketball. They shut off the lights, had a crazy loud student section, and had spotlights going crazy. It was not your average high school basketball intro. 4. Harrison was down about 15 points going into the fourth. A ridiculous comeback and some unreal shots allowed them to win the game 68-65. When they won, the students, bench, coaches, and fans went psycho and stormed the court. Here’s a picture of what it looked like right after the stormed the court.    

Back to School

I am back in Kennesaw.  Briefly.From what I can see, my last exam will be December 10th. If that is true, then I should be out of Kennesaw that afternoon. Only about 2 weeks left. That is if this stupid school will ever send my transcript to the University of Memphis. I filled out a form over a month ago to get my transcript sent. They even called me a few days after I did it to confirm my transcript request. Somehow, they didn’t send it, because I still haven’t been accepted to Memphis because they are waiting on my transcript.I am nervous about my “report card”… wait, do you even get those in college?Well, I’m nervous about my grades. I am not so sure about 2 classes. So, parents, just a heads up…..might not be as good as it always has been. College is hard. Really hard.

Victory

Today, I headed down to the Liberty Bowl to check out my Memphis Tigers as they took on the SMU Mustangs. This was one of the best games I have ever been to in my entire life.   

First off, it was absolutely freezing. I am not a cold weather hater. I love cold weather. However, when your toes can act as ice cubes, it is officially “cold” outside.

The game started at 1. It was crazy back and forth the entire game. Memphis had the ball with less than 2 minutes left in the game. The score was tied 42-42. We ended up getting down to about the 15 yard line with 30 seconds left. It was all for nothing when my boy Matt Reagan misses the game winning chip shot. Not his fault. The snap, hold, and everything else was terrible.

So we go into overtime. We hold them to only a field goal so ALL we have to do is score something and we are still alive. Offense does crap and we have to settle for a field goal.

Annndddddd…..we missed it. However, stupid SMU coach that’s already been fired called a timeout before we hiked the ball. So, we get another chance, and we make it this time.

Long story short, we both score in the 2nd OT. SMU gets shut down in the third OT, and we kick the game winner on second down. Final Score: 55-52. The game was almost a 5 hour game. Afterwards, Memphis accepted a bid to the New Orleans Bowl to play Troy. Apparently, we are probably going to get murdered by Troy. Oh well JR, we still got to a bowl game.

Back Home

The trip back home was an interesting one at that. Kristen and I were supposed to leave at about 3, but she got stuck in a little bit of traffic on her way to meet me at KSU. As a result, we didn’t leave until about 6:30 or 6:45. I am not mad that I waited on her, as I’m sure she thinks I am. I normally don’t make that drive with anyone else in the car, so having someone in there to keep me company on the 6 hour ride was a nice change. After watching Grey’s Anatomy, Zoolander, and some really funny bloopers from my videos, we were just about home. We got home at about 12:45 in the morning, which wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I dropped Kristen off at Wal-Mart, which is where this guy was waiting for us. Aww…sweet little reunion.

Today is Thanksgiving.

I am going to this place to eat today. It will be an interesting change up from the regular going-to-the-family’s-house-and-watching-football-all-day day.

Charlotte

Right now, I’m in a hotel room with this guy, this guy, and this guy. Todd’s dreading the Clemson game, and JR has officially realized that this isn’t Miami’s year. Tomorrow morning, we are waking up at 4 in the morning to help this church with their set up. I am as excited as I am not excited about this.

Side note: Memphis, who normally has a terribly football team, has officially become bowl eligible. Just throwing that out there.

My Memphis Tigers

I am a skeptic.

While I do feel Memphis is a great team, I just don’t feel good about how we are playing. I don’t think we will lose to UConn tonight, but I am a little nervous.

We aren’t playing like the number three team in the country, or the preseason pick to win the tournament in April. Don’t know what’s wrong with us. We just aren’t clicking.

…just wanted to say that.

The Biggest Loser

This show is easily one of my favorite shows. I believe that I now could qualify for this show.

On a normal week, I weigh about 162-165 pounds. Nothing out of the ordinary right?

Well, as most of you know, I have been oddly sick this past week, and my desire to eat or drink hasn’t really ever been there. Today, I decided to weigh myself tonight to see how much weight I had lost. I was guessing. . . maybe 5 pounds

As I said earlier, I normally weigh about 162-165 pounds. When I stepped off the scale today, it said. . .

. . . 151.8 . . . .

WHHHATTT? I don’t know if you think that’s crazy, but I sure do. I lost about 11 or 12 pounds in a little less than a week. I don’t think I’m “well-built”, but I definitely didn’t think I could lose this much weight in a matter of days. I didn’t even exercise. I slept about 40 hours this weekend.

This is hands down the most effective diet of all time.

Mystery Virus

I have been pretty sick since about Thursday. . .

My version of “sick” is different than some people’s version of sick. When I’m sick, I don’t get out of bed. I don’t move. I just sit there. Some people always say they are sick, and they go out and do stuff like they are fine. You are not sick. Shut your mouth.

Anyways, the thing that sucks most about this is my throat. It is swollen. Not too big of a deal right? Well yesterday it wasn’t as bad as today, but today it’s nearly impossible for me to talk. It is swollen that bad. It is painful to talk, and when I attempt to talk, I sound like I have a mouth full of peanut butter. It is really hard, especially when you “talk” to people who ask you a lot of questions.

I went to the doctor yesterday. They immediately thought I had some form of strep throat, but when that test came back negative, they were almost sure I had mono. When that test came back negative, they weren’t sure at all. So now I don’t know what I have. The doctor said “probably some variation of a bacterial or viral infection”, but either way it sucks. Bad.

Sucky

I got about 4 hours of sleep. Why you ask?

I don’t know. I went to bed at about 3ish, fell asleep about 5ish.

When I woke up, my lip was split right down the middle. Bleeding, too. I have no idea how it happened.

Rude awakening.
