The Big Present

Posted in Uncategorized on December 31, 2007 by jmoffat

Everyone always gets that one “big” present every year.

Well, I finally got to put my big present to use today. My dad put my Flowmaster exhaust on my car.

Whoa Baby!! It is SWEEETTT!
I love my car…

Christmas

Posted in Uncategorized on December 25, 2007 by jmoffat

For the past few years, I have opened presents on Christmas Eve. I’m not sure why that’s what we do. It just is. I got….

  •  Clothes
  • A calendar. I have gotten one every year for about the past 5 years.
  • Cologne.
  • Two Seasons of Family Guy
  • Superbad
  • A giant poster of Arsenal’s soccer stadium. The only “problem” is that it is their old stadium. It’s not bad…it’s just not the new one. Thanks anyways Dad!
  • Tickets to an Angels and Airwaves concert in St. Louis in February.
  • A Memphis Tigers license plate for the ‘Stang.
  • A case for my MacBook.
  • Second Row seats to the Memphis Grizzlies against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Up close and personal with Lebron James.
  • Flowmasters for the ‘Stang. I’m so excited about those!

Fantasy Football Disaster

Posted in Uncategorized on December 24, 2007 by jmoffat

This is a list of people that have been on my fantasy team this year. Along with their name is a reason why they screwed up my fantasy season.

  •  Marc Bulger-concussion, broken rims, broken thumb. Last year, he set franchise records. This year, he is lucky if he gets through all four quarters.
  • Jake Delhomme-Played awesome the first two weeks; then destroyed his elbow, and has missed the entire season.
  • Stephen Jackson-Promised all fantasy owners 2,500 all purpose yards this year;tore his groin midway through the season, and after 15 of 16 games, he has 1,217 yards. His only two good weeks he has had, I didn’t play him.
  • The Ravens defense-do I really need to explain? They accounted for the Dolphin’s only victory of the year on a 68 yd TD pass.
  • Matt Leinart-Broke his collarbone;out for season.
  • Kurt Warner-Tore ligaments in throwing elbow, and decided to have season ending surgery. As a result, I dropped him from my team. As a result, he said “Just Kidding” and has been phenomenal ever since.
  • Jason Campbell-picked him up after all my other starting QB injuries. 4 weeks later, when he starts to play decent, he breaks his kneecap, and he is out for the year.
  • Kyle Boller-picked him up after ALL my injuries-didn’t even have a chance to play him, and he received a concussion, and now is out for the year.
  • Kevin Jones-picked him up after Jackson got hurt. Played him one week, and he did alright. Then, he tore his ACL and is out for the year.
  • Laveranues Coles-played great, until he got hurt. Has been, at best, questionable every game since October 14th for calf injuries, ankle injuries, knee injuries, and even a concussion.
  • Adam Vinatieri-notoriously known for making all of his kicks, even when the pressure is on big time. This year, he is the 20th rated kicker and is 22-28 on field goals and has also missed 2 extra points.
  • Priest Holmes-I picked him up, he played one week, and then decided to retire.
  • Todd Heap-hurt the entire year.
  • Wes Welker-picked him up after 2 140+ receiving yard games. Hasn’t gotten close since.

If you are in a league with me, pray that I don’t draft your favorite player, because there is a good chance he will not make it through Thanksgiving.

Weird Searcher

Posted in Uncategorized on December 24, 2007 by jmoffat

Earlier I was looking through the blog stats for my blog.

On my blog stats, I can see things that people search for and find my blog.

Apparently, someone has searched for “african gay guy“, and they ended up on my blog.

I have searched through this blog, and can find nothing that would lead them here.
I am not african. I’m not gay. However, he was correct on the “guy” part of the search.
Now, I’m also confused.

Hide and Seek

Posted in Uncategorized on December 23, 2007 by jmoffat

Last night, I headed over to First Assembly of God in Atoka to play some basketball with Blake, Gate, Josh Teal, Jordan M., Tommy, and Jim. This is Blake’s church, and he is basically the only one who uses the gym, so we had the whole thing to ourselves all night. After about five or six hours of playing basketball, we decided to turn off all the lights in this church and play Hide and Seek.

Now, I’m sure that sounds stupid, since I was the youngest one there and I’m 17. However, hide and seek in a pitch black church at 1 in the morning is freaking intense. It was a blast. I’m sure there will be more games like that very soon.

I just realized that I played “Hide and Seek” until 2:30 in the morning yesterday. I need to get a life.

Tiger’s Game

Posted in Uncategorized on December 22, 2007 by jmoffat

After showing my unbelievable expertise at sitting in sections I’m not supposed to be in, I witnessed a butt whooping for the ages.

Hoyas…? What are those anyways?

Give the Tiger’s credit everyone… People always give me, and others, crap about them. Regardless of what conference we play in, you can’t argue with this

On a side note, I ran into my best bud David C Jacks at the basketball game.Did he speak to me? No.Did he wave to me? No.Did he acknowledge my presence? No.I don’t understand this whole thing… as a matter of fact, nobody does. I don’t even think God understands what David is doing. Kepp doing ya business man!

The Indiana Trip (Part Three)

Posted in Uncategorized on December 22, 2007 by jmoffat

Sorry that it has been forever since I have written a blog.
I have been so busy in Indiana having a blast with my family that I forgot about this thing.
I had a lot of fun.
It snowed a lot.
I sledded a lot.
I crashed a lot.
I drove a lot.
That’s about it.
I’m back in Tennessee now.
Yippee.

The Indiana Trip (Part Two)

-Once Saturday came around and my dad didn’t have to go to work, we finally got to spend some time together. We ate breakfast this morning, watched some EPL football, and then headed to the mall. This was at about noon today.

-At about this time, it finally began to snow. When I say snow, I’m not talking about those Tennessee flurries. I’m talking blizzard snow. Good stuff man good stuff.

-After going Christmas shopping, we headed to Moe’s and ate with my Uncle Dan. Does everyone have an Uncle Dan? I feel like they do.-Around five, my dad and I headed to Granger Community Church. I was really looking forward to going here, because it looked really, really cool on their website. It also looked really, really cool when I got there. Thaaaattt was about the time when they started the service. Now, maybe it was because it was their Christmas service. Maybe…but this was NOT the church I watched on the internet. It sounded different. The people were different. It was just different. Ya know how when ya go to church, it NORMALLY starts with standing up and singing? I never stood up while I was at Granger. Not one time. They did their own music thing, like it was just them in the room. It was strange. However, I think I got some cool pictures though on THE phone. Check em out!

They have a screen behind the entire stage. It’s about the size of a movie theater screen.

Then the service started, and 1234567890 kids came on the stage, picked their noses, and waved to their mommies.

I also got some action shots of Chuck. Here’s my dad’s driving while he was trying to turn left in an impossible-to-turn-left situation. Notice how we are obviously not going with the flow of traffic.

Here’s my dad walking into Meijer’s. It was snowing crazy hard and it was crazy cold!

It’s about 9:30 here, and it still hasn’t stopped snowing. It has snowed ALLLLLL DAY! Looks like I’m going sledding with the family tomorrow!

The Indiana Trip (Part One)

-For the first few days, I didn’t do much. Basically, I just caught up on all the sleep I missed during the semester. Between the first two nights I was here, I got about 25 hours of sleep. It was nice.

-The first night I was here, my mom called me to let me know that I had finally been accepted to the University of Memphis, so that’s always a good thing to hear. It’s about time.

-In my time of lounging around on Thursday and Friday, I would periodically look out the window to see if it had started snowing yet. The weather people on my phone kept saying it was supposed to snow every day and every night, but they were very wrong.

-I got to hang out with my dad, of course. I also got to hang out with my cat, who many of you made fun of me for bringing her up in my Indiana trip discussions. She is awesome. My dad’s not bad either ;) .

These pictures were taken about an hour apart from each other. This was basically then entire drive. All 9 hours of it. get-attachmentaspx.jpg

They look like they are basically in the exact same spot. They aren’t. About 75 miles apart from each other. Word to everyone out there.

Just fly to Indiana.
