Things Learned Only In Atlanta

Before I begin, I just want you to know that the list of this keeps growing every day…..

1. Traffic lights are terrible here. Around here, most of the traffic lights are timed, not motion sensored here. So, one light could be green for 4 minutes with nobody coming. Meanwhile, the line you are in keeps growing and growing until it is blocking the intersection behind you. It’s a pain.

2. No matter what time of day your are driving, you will not be alone. There is always traffic here. Especially around the school. When I’m driving, I find myself saying,”Geez….what are these people doing? Why are they driving around right now?”……ironic.

3. It seems like lanes will just end at random times. You will be driving alone fine, and the next thing you know your lane will be ending and you are about to run into a curb. Since there is always so much traffic, it is a huge hassle to get over.

4. Chick-fil-A is God among restaurants here. My roommate Brendan works at a Chick-fil-A that just opened right near campus. Apparently, everyone knows that if you are one of the first however many customers at a new Chick-fil-A, you get some thing for like hundreds of free Chick-fil-A meals. Well, when Brendan went up to work the day before it opened, people were camped out. They were sleeping in the parking lot, so they could be the first ones there. Losersssss…..

5. Radio stations play way better music here. Simple as that…

6. The weather has been unreal that past week. No hotter than 75-80, no cooler than 60, and no clouds in the sky. Sweetness.

7. Soccer is played by WAAAAAAAYYYYY more people here in Kennesaw than it is in Memphis. The people that play are GOOOOOOODDDD.

8. People either drive 41 miles an hour over the speed limit, or RIGHT at it. No exceptions.

9. Ultimate Frisbee is one of the most popular sports here.

I’m sure there will be more to add to this list a lot later…
